Infinite in Between by Carolyn Mackler

High school. 4 crazy long years. Where every event seems like it is world changing. And at the time, it is to you. Relationships come and go. Friends come and go. At the end of the day, you are the most important person to yourself.

Infinite in Between did a great job at showcasing how different 5 lives can be during the same 4 year time span. How people are capable of change and how your own life can change drastically at the drop of a hat.

One person may be discovering their sexuality. One person may be discovering long kept family secrets. Everyone will be discovering their identity. One person may have a tragic loss. Health, sickness, death, relationships, birth, music, camp, and so much more occurs during those 4 important years.

While friendships come and go, some friends are there to stay. Sometimes the most unlikely person becomes one of the most important people to you. And above all else, the person you can always rely on, is yourself.

This book was a fantastic take on how 5 people’s lives could be so different and so similar at the same time. How 5 random people could end up becoming entangled in each other’s lives in ways that aren’t always known to them. I wish there were more books to see where these 5 friends end up in life. I was left with too many questions at the end and felt very unsatisfied.
