The Imposters by Scott Westerfeld

I loved reading Scott Westerfeld’s series Uglies and the Midnighters when I was younger. When I saw The Imposters at Target, I knew I had to give it a try. Especially when I saw it was an autographed copy!

I had no idea this was going to be set in a time after Tally Underwood from the Uglies series. The dynamics between Frey and Rafia, Rafia and their father, Frey and their father, Frey and Col, and Frey and the world are incredible. The way that Scott Westerfeld set the twins up and the depth he used for Frey was amazing. With each chapter, you learned more and more about the way she thinks and functions. Her character was constantly growing and becoming more and more real.

The further I got into the book, the less I wanted to put it down and the later the time became. Rather than sleeping, I kept reading into the night. The ending was both predictable and a surprise at the same time. I had a feeling it would end the way it did, but I kept hoping that it wouldn’t. I cannot wait for book 2 in September!
