Black Widow: Forever Red

I love Marvel movies. Every one I have seen, I have loved. Now, I have only read a couple of the comics, they just aren’t really my thing. I enjoy them, but I have to be in the right mood and that isn’t often. Plus I tend to read on my phone/iPad which isn’t always conducive to comics. But when I randomly saw Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl, I knew that I had to give it a try.

Now, from my understanding, there is not a Black Widow movie as of yet. So needless to say, I don’t know how this book will compare.

I loved this book. I know some of the reviews say that it is simplistic (and it is), but it was also easy to get into and hard to put down. I wanted to read it all in one sitting but unfortunately, I had to go to work (curse you responsibilities!).

I’m not a huge fan of romances in books. At least not right now. It’s pretty rare that I am to be honest. So that’s one reason I love this book. The romance that occurs is cute, young, and innocent. It’s adorable, and the storyline doesn’t fixate around it which is fantastic!

I enjoyed seeing Natasha try to avoid forming commitments and attachments, and at the end, doing so anyways. Watching Ava grow into her own person, and accept both herself and her past, was inspiring. She accepted what her past contains but didn’t let it dictate her present and future. Instead, she became her own person and did what she needed to do to move on.

I am really excited for book 2 and to see how the Black Widow movie turns out!
