When I was younger, I fell in love with the Daughters of the Moon series by Lynne Ewing. And despite the cliche saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”, that was exactly why I picked up the series in the first place. I loved the hardback, black cover but with glittery girls on it. I was immediately drawn to the series merely from the cover.
When I saw this sister series, I knew I had to give it a chance.
I think I would have enjoyed it more when I was younger to be honest. While the characters and story line were great, it felt underdeveloped and simplistic. I would have loved more details during different parts, including the mythology of everything.
This was a great book for pre-teens and younger adults. It is a quick and engaging read that makes you want more. Hopefully the story will develop further!
