As this book started, I wasn’t sure how I felt while reading. I got over the shock that everyone on the island was dead, and it ended up making sense to me. However, Tristan made me want to punch him. He leads Rory on and then when she kisses him, he acts shocked. And then a day or two later, he’s decided that he loves her and wants to be with her. That was my first inkling that he had an ulterior motive.

It was very simple to figure out that Tristan was responsible for the wrong things happening on Juniper Landing which disappointed me. After being shocked at the ending of Shadowlands, I was hoping for more out of this book.

This book was a quick and simple read that still left the reader in suspense and wanting more. I love watching Rory grow and not being willing to accept the status quo.
